Merlin was born at the sanctuary in February 2026, his mother, Margarida, arrived already pregnant. From the moment he entered the world, he faced challenges—suspected brain damage left him vulnerable, and his mother abandoned him almost immediately. But from his very first hours, our team stepped in to give him the care he desperately needed.

The early days were tough. Merlin was very sick—even the simplest act of urinating caused him pain. For months, we provided round-the-clock care: bottle-feeding, overnight monitoring, and learning as we went how to meet his needs. He wasn’t alone in this struggle. Reed, abandoned lamb, went through those same difficult early months alongside him—two fragile lives figuring out survival together.

Today, Merlin and Reed are thriving. They’ve grown into full of life souls —a testament to the power of patience, love, and dedicated care.

Fun Fact: Social Butterflies Goats are highly social animals and thrive in the company of others. They form strong bonds within their groups, known as "herds," and display affection through nuzzling, head-butting, and grooming.
