Since 2023, Riza Animal Sanctuary has been run entirely by volunteers. Every feeding, every clean-up, every late night with a sick animal, every small and big task that keeps this place going — it's all thanks to the hands and hearts that show up, day after day.
Without so many people giving their time, we simply wouldn't have been able to give our animals the care they deserve. Volunteers are the heart of Riza.

Active since December 2022, Coimbra Vegan Market is more than just a market — it's one of the ways we help sustain Riza Animal Sanctuary economically and a space where we build culture and drive change.
Every monthly edition brings together community, vegan food, and vegan businesses, creating a place where people can eat well, discover new products, and connect with others who share the same values. It's also a space that supports a circular economy — championing local, small, and ethical vegan businesses instead of the mainstream system built on animal exploitation.
