Petunia was rescued in September 2025, along with her entire family. She’s the matriarch of the herd.
She’s around 13 years old, and for her whole life she was used for lamb and sheep milk production. When she arrived, she was emaciated — carrying the marks of years of exploitation and the aches and pains that came with them. But Petunia is resilient. Despite everything she’s been through, she’s an animal who loves cuddles, especially when they come with a little extra food.
For the first time in her life, Petunia got to watch her daughter, Nunù, grow up beside her, surrounded by the rest of the family. After 13 years spent producing for others — first lambs, then milk, year after year — she never got to simply be with her own child. Now she does.
Today, Petunia is free. No more production, no more taking from her. Just a chance to live out her older years with the dignity, respect, and care she was never given before.
